When you use SpeechMania to record your voice:

• Audio recordings are processed for transcription using Apple's Speech Framework, which may send audio data to Apple's servers
• Recordings are stored locally on your device
• If you enable cloud sync, recordings are stored in the cloud (optional, requires your explicit consent)
• You can delete any recording at any time - deletion removes it from your device and the cloud (if applicable)

1.2 Transcriptions and Text Content

The transcribed text and AI-enhanced versions of your speech are:

• Stored locally on your device
• Optionally stored in the cloud if you enable cloud sync
• Retained until you choose to delete them
• Fully under your control - you can delete any or all content at any time

1.3 Usage Information

We may collect basic usage statistics to improve the app, including:

• App crashes and error reports
• Feature usage frequency (e.g., number of recordings, enhancement requests)
• Device type and operating system version

This information is anonymized and does not identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively for the following purposes:

• Providing Core Features: Processing your voice recordings to generate transcriptions and AI-enhanced text
• Improving the App: Analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs and enhance features
• Technical Support: Responding to support requests and troubleshooting issues

We do NOT:

• Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
• Sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own use
• Track your activity across other apps or websites
• Build user profiles for any purpose other than app functionality

3. Third-Party Services

SpeechMania uses the following third-party services to provide functionality:

3.1 Apple Speech Framework

We use Apple's Speech Framework to transcribe your voice recordings into text. When using this service:

• Your audio data may be sent to Apple's servers for processing
• Apple's use of this data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Apple may use the data to improve their speech recognition services

3.2 AI Enhancement Services

We use third-party AI services (such as OpenAI or similar providers) to enhance your transcribed speech. Your text data is sent to these services for processing. These providers have their own privacy policies and data handling practices. We select providers that:

• Do not use your data to train their models (or offer such options)
• Do not retain your data longer than necessary for processing
• Implement strong security measures

3.3 Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you choose to enable cloud sync features:

• Your recordings, transcriptions, and enhanced text are stored in our secure cloud infrastructure
• This feature is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent
• You can disable cloud sync at any time in the app settings
• Cloud-stored data remains until you delete it
• When you delete content from the app, it is also deleted from the cloud

4. Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

• Local Storage: Your recordings, transcriptions, and enhanced text are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms
• Cloud Storage (Optional): If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored in secure cloud servers with encryption at rest
• Encryption: All data transmitted to our servers and third-party services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS/TLS)
• User Control: You can delete any recordings or transcriptions at any time, both from your device and from the cloud

5. Data Retention

• Audio Recordings: Stored on your device (and in the cloud if you enable cloud sync) until you choose to delete them
• Transcriptions and Enhanced Text: Stored on your device (and in the cloud if you enable cloud sync) until you choose to delete them
• Deleted Content: When you delete recordings or transcriptions, they are immediately removed from your device and our cloud servers (if applicable)
• Usage Analytics: Anonymized usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for analysis purposes

You have complete control over your content. You can delete individual recordings or transcriptions, or clear all your data at any time through the app.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: View all recordings, transcriptions, and enhanced text stored in the app
• Deletion: Delete any individual recording or transcription, or delete all your data at once. Deletion removes content from both your device and the cloud (if cloud sync is enabled)
• Export: Export your recordings and transcriptions in standard formats
• Cloud Control: Enable or disable cloud sync at any time. Disabling cloud sync does not delete your existing cloud data - you must delete it separately if desired
• Opt-Out: Disable analytics collection in the app settings

All of these controls are available directly within the app - no need to contact us to exercise your rights.

7. Children's Privacy

SpeechMania is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us to have it removed.

8. International Data Transfers

If you use SpeechMania outside of the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
